Sustainability
Part of Our Story

TISKA was born from Tekstina’s story of constant progress, creativity and innovation, oriented in new solutions that provide better service for our customers and less carbon impact on our planet. Preserving the planet and conducting sustainable operations is embedded in Tekstina’s almost 200-year-long tradition.

Ethically Sourced Fabrics from EU Suppliers

At TISKA we carefully choose our fabric suppliers, based on where the fabric is sourced from. Your creations can be made from organic fabric materials, and we work towards offering more and more recycled textiles.

All fabrics supplied by TISKA fulfil the REACH regulation requirements; no products contain substances of very high concern (SVHC listed).

Eco-Friendly Water-Based Inks

In the production of TISKA’s textile, we are using eco-friendly pigment inks. Our chemical suppliers are EU located and certified according to EU standards.

Water-based pigment inks that we are using, are considered one of the most environmentally friendly and sustainable ink options available for the textile printing industry. Its advantages are:

  • Less water consumption – severe washing is not required
  • Non-toxic and biodegradable ink
  • Lower energy consumption

Lowering Water Consumption

In the field of water management, the textile industry is still one of the largest water consumers in Europe. The future of the digital textile printing is in the more sustainable printing methods, that consume less resources.

With TISKA, we are switching fabric printing technique from reactive to pigment printing, which consumes way less water in the production process. Beside that Tekstina has managed to reduce its water consumption for 43,5% during the last 3 years.

Renewable Energy Sources

As renewable energy is a critical part of reducing global carbon emissions, Tekstina decided to build an on-site renewable solar power plant, which covers 30% of its energy requirements.

Diminishing Textile Waste

TISKA prints fabrics upon order, so there is minimal to zero wasted fabrics. Any remaining textile scraps are recycled.

Other waste materials from the production process are collected, sorted and treated according to the total waste management system implemented by Tekstina, TISKA’s parent company.

Sustainability Projects

By supporting global organisations, we directly influence the global reduction of CO2 emission

Can I send you my own fabric for print?

It depends on the fabric type you have. Our printing technique is suitable only for certain types of fibers. That’s why we test and analyze each fabric in our laboratory to ensure we can achieve good results before offering it on the market.

Additionally, each fabric needs to be prepared for print (impregnated) before we can print on it. This is why the minimum order quantity (MOQ) cannot be 1 meter, but rather larger.

If you have your own fabric, please send us the technical details via email (fabric composition, weight, weave structure, etc.), specifying also the desired quantity you would like to print.

Based on this information, we can assess whether your fabric is suitable for our printing process and provide you with a more accurate estimate of the MOQ and pricing.

How do I know if my design is print-ready?
If you are not sure, whether your design is seamless and has no mistakes when repeated on a larger scale, check out our video tutorial, where we explain the steps in Photoshop to check your design. Click here.

You can order the fabric up to 0,1 meters precisely (in decimetres), but the minimum order quantity is 1m.   Beside that, you can choose to buy a sample of 40x40cm, to see how the design will look like on the chosen fabric.
