At TISKA, we are constantly investing in new technologies and improving our production processes to provide the highest possible quality of custom printed fabrics.
As part of our ongoing commitment to quality, we have recently upgraded the colour management system used to process all print files before production. This new colour rendering profile allows us to achieve even more accurate and consistent colour reproduction across our entire fabric collection.
While this is an exciting improvement for all future orders, we’d also like to explain what it means for previous samples, reorders and colour matching.
Our goal is simple: to reproduce your designs on fabric as faithfully as possible. At TISKA, we are continuously investing in new technologies and improving our production processes to provide the best possible fabric printing experience. As part of this commitment, we have recently upgraded the colour management system used to process all print files before production.
Understanding colour reproduction on fabric
Before discussing the update, it’s important to understand how colour reproduction works in digital textile printing.
Colours displayed on a computer, tablet or phone screen can never match printed fabric perfectly. Every screen displays colours differently depending on its calibration, brightness and colour settings.
Likewise, printing on fabric is fundamentally different from printing on paper. The final appearance of a printed design is influenced by many factors, including:
- Fibre composition (cotton, linen, polyester, viscose, etc.)
- Fabric construction (woven or knitted)
- Fabric weight
- Surface treatments or coatings
- Ink absorption
- The printing technology used
For this reason, the same design can look slightly different when printed on different fabrics, even if exactly the same file is used.
This is completely normal in textile printing and is one of the reasons why colour sampling is so important.
Why we offer Colour Guides
To help designers, brands and makers achieve the best possible colour accuracy, we offer Colour Guides for our printable fabrics.
Each Colour Guide contains hundreds of colours printed directly onto the fabric together with their HEX values. This allows you to compare the colours on your screen with the colours produced on the actual textile.
If your project requires precise colour matching, we always recommend using a Colour Guide printed on the same fabric you intend to order.
What’s new?
To further improve our print quality, we have upgraded the colour management system used to process all customer artwork before printing.
Our new colour rendering profile provides:
- Improved colour accuracy
- More consistent colour reproduction
- A more faithful representation of your original artwork
This upgrade helps us produce even better printing results across our fabric range.
What does this mean for previous orders?
Because we are now using an improved colour profile, future print runs may not match fabrics that were produced using our previous profile.
The effect varies from design to design and depends entirely on the colours used.
For many artworks, differences are only minor.
In our testing, the most noticeable changes have been observed in:
- Black and white grayscale designs
- Certain brown tones
- Certain red shades
Other colours may show only very small differences or no visible difference at all.
Are my previous Colour Guides still valid?
✅ Colour Guides ordered within the last month
If you ordered a Colour Guide within the last month, it was already produced using our new colour profile and remains a reliable reference for future orders.
Previous Colour Guides, samples and test prints
Colour Guides, samples and test prints produced before the introduction of our new colour profile should no longer be considered an exact reference for future production.
Similarly, reorders of existing designs may show visible colour differences compared to previous productions.
Do I need to adjust my design files?
Not necessarily.
Many customers will not need to make any adjustments at all.
Because every design contains a unique combination of colours, the only way to evaluate the impact on a specific artwork is by printing a sample.
For this reason, we strongly recommend ordering a 40 × 40 cm sample before placing larger orders, especially if colour accuracy is important for your project.
This allows you to verify exactly how your design looks with our new colour profile before moving to production.
File preparation recommendations
Our artwork preparation guidelines remain unchanged.
For the best printing results, we recommend:
- PNG file format
- Minimum 150 dpi resolution (higher is always welcome)
- RGB colour mode
These settings continue to provide the best foundation for accurate and vibrant textile printing.
Our commitment to continuous improvement
At TISKA, we are continuously refining our technology, software and production processes to provide the highest quality digital fabric printing possible.
Although this update may introduce slight colour differences compared to older productions, it represents a significant improvement in colour accuracy, consistency and overall print quality for future orders.
We believe this investment will allow us to reproduce your artwork more faithfully than ever before.
If you have any questions about the new colour profile, colour matching or preparing your artwork for print, our team is always happy to help.
Thank you for trusting TISKA with your custom fabric printing projects.
